Motorist stops, dies in Lexington Park
Man, 35, had medical condition
A Lexington Park man collapsed and died Sunday night on a grassy area along a lane off Great Mills Road, authorities report, after he stopped his vehicle in the roadway.
St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputies and Lexington Park rescue squad volunteers could not revive 35-year-old Melvin J. Craddock at the scene of Sunday’s 10:09 p.m. incident at Pacific Drive, according to sheriff’s detectives. No evidence of any injuries were found on his body, detectives report, and they were told by Craddock’s family members that he suffered from a recent medical condition. His body was taken to the state medical examiner’s office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
