My name is Amber Larkins and I'm covering the Upper Marlboro, Clinton, Fort Washington area as well as crime throughout Prince George's County. Though I'm a northern Virginia native, I fell in love with the diversity of Prince George's County when I moved there in the summer of 2012 to work on my master's degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. In fall of 2012, I interned for the Prince George's Sentinel covering education and community events. In spring 2013, I worked for University of Maryland's Capital News Service where I covered the State Legislature. Through the wire service, I was published in places like The Washington Times, The Daily Record and Star Democrat. I received my bachelor's at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., where I studied medieval and renaissance literature. I'm excited about working for the Gazette and continuing to learn the intricacies of Prince George's County.
