As the Gazette’s education reporter, I cover issues surrounding the Prince George’s County School System and how those issues affect the classroom. I also cover general news and events in the communities of Laurel, Greenbelt and Beltsville. I’m a native of California, but I grew up in Massachusetts. I graduated with a B.A. from Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass. For the past seven years, I have been a reporter for The Eunice News, a biweekly Louisiana State Newspapers Inc. publication, reporting on news and events in rural southwest Louisiana. While there, I covered local events, education, police, local and parish government, and breaking news. In the community, I became known as the reporter who volunteered to be tasered so he could write about it. My features and columns placed in the Louisiana Press Association’s annual competition for three years in a row.
