As the Prince George’s Gazette’s education reporter, I cover the decisions made by the officials leading Prince George’s County Public Schools and how those decisions affect the classroom. As The Gazette’s community reporter, I cover Laurel, Greenbelt and Beltsville, and I feel especially drawn to the history that lives alongside new developments in these cities. I hold a bachelor’s degree in government and international politics from George Mason University and a Master of Journalism degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, in public affairs reporting. Before joining The Gazette in October 2011, I covered the State House in Annapolis for Capital News Service, the University of Maryland’s wire service, where I covered juvenile justice issues. I have also covered communities in Northern Virginia as a freelancer.
