As a lifelong Montgomery County resident I was thrilled when I received an opportunity -- shortly after graduating in 2008 from Penn State -- to come back home and work at The Gazette. For over six years, I was a member of The Gazette’s sports desk, as a reporter and editor, covering high school and local sports throughout Montgomery, Prince George’s and Frederick counties. Now, I am the web editor and the paper’s “social media guy.” So feel free to interact with me on Twitter (@kzakour)! When I’m not in the newsroom you can probably find me at a sporting event or on the golf course. I am an avid D.C. and Penn State sports fan. I also played football, wrestled and threw shot put and discus at Magruder High School (Class of 2004). In Happy Valley, I majored in journalism with sports reporting emphasis and co-hosted a radio show through ComRadio. I’ve also worked at Sportstalk 980 (now ESPN 980), WRC-TV4 and the United States Golf Association.
