I cover Olney, Brookeville, Ashton, Sandy Spring and Laytonsville. I have worked part-time at The Gazette for nearly 14 years, and have always covered Olney and its surrounding communities. Last year, I added Laytonsville to my beat. I graduated from the University of Maryland’s School of Journalism. After a hiatus in my career to care for my three children, I stumbled upon the opportunity to work at The Gazette. The best part of my job is that I live in Olney, the community that I cover. During my career at The Gazette, my stories have been recognized internally and by the Maryland Delaware D.C. Press Association. I was also honored by the Greater Olney Civic Association and the Maryland General Assembly for my contribution to the Olney community.
