Rob decided to go in to journalism after starting out at his high school newspaper, The Cougar Express, at Thomas Stone High School in the early ’90s. Upon entering Bethany College as a freshman, he declared his major to be in communications with a print journalism track and minored in political science. After graduation, he started out as the police/courts/fire reporter at The Maryland Independent, took on an editor position at The Enquirer-Gazette and worked on the regional desk as the education reporter for The Gazette Newspapers in Prince George’s County. In 2001, Rob was promoted to managing editor of The Calvert Recorder. In June 2012, he was promoted to his current title as editor. Outside of work, Rob can often be found watching films of all kinds, but mostly horror, and reading fiction and non-fiction novels.
