Montgomery College serves about 60,000 students per year through credit and non-credit programs at campuses in Germantown, Rockville and Takoma Park/Silver Spring, and at work force development and continuing education centers in Gaithersburg, Wheaton and Silver Spring.
The college offers more than 130 degree and certificate programs that prepare students to earn an associate degree, transfer to a four-year college or university, enter the job market, upgrade career skills, complete an apprenticeship or take enrichment courses. Day, evening and weekend courses are available in subjects ranging from accounting and applied geography to automotive technology and computer science.

The Universities at Shady Grove opened in fall 2000 on 50 acres at the intersection of Darnestown and Shady Grove roads in Rockville. The center is in collaboration with nine of the 11 degree-granting University System of Maryland institutions, and offers daytime undergraduate upper-division courses for students to complete their final two years of study for a bachelor’s degree. The Shady Grove campus also offers evening and weekend undergraduate and graduate programs.
