Registration is under way for the annual Charles County Women's Fair on March 6.

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Center for Business and Industry at the College of Southern Maryland's La Plata campus, 8730 Mitchell Road.

This year's theme is in conjunction with Women International Week: "The Power of Women: You Can Change Your World" and will focus on empowering women around the world to take charge of their health and wellness, spiritual well-being and financial fortitude and stability.

Speakers will be Christine Parker of Parker Financial, Sheebah Smith of Spring Dell Center and Gary Fick, head chef at The Crossing at Casey Jones.

Fick will provide a master cooking demonstration featuring a healthy, simple and "berry" tasty recipe.

A question-and-answer session will follow the demonstration.

There will be welcoming remarks by Roberta Berry and Darlene Breck, women's fair co-chairwomen, a health and wellness center and an exhibitor hall.

Morning breakout session topics will focus on women's health, wellness, spiritual well-being, taking care of yourself and financial fortitude that will be presented by Joyce M. Cool of Wealth Management Partners; Dr. Kanika Hampton, medical director of Civista Women's Health Center; Cynthia Parker, vice president of network development and marketing for CCNRC Family of Care; and Ann Penick of CSM Counseling Services.

Throughout the day attendees can visit the health and wellness center featuring free screenings, demonstrations and services.

Seating is limited and the registration is required by Feb. 26.
