Connor Cook

St. Mary’s Ryken senior attack

Résumé: Cook was the 2011 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Player of the Year; did a little bit of everything for the high-powered Knights offense; scored 54 goals and totaled 54 assists; finished with 108 points; St. Mary’s Ryken male Athlete of the Year; voted team Most Valuable Player; will play in Maryland State senior All-Star game in early June; Kelly Award finalist for the best lacrosse player in the state; three time All-Conference; three-time All-County; attending West Point next year

Résumé: Led Ryken to a 15-4 overall record, 6-2 in WCAC play, tied for second overall; WCAC semifinalist; 10 wins versus teams with winning records; Worcester Prep Tournament champions; Greg Carroll Invitational Lacrosse Tournament champions; won 12 consecutive games through the season; ranked as No. 10 in the state and No. 36 in the country, finished at No. 41, according to Sothoron and MaxPreps

Led the Braves in goals (43), assists (38); finished with 81 points and 60 groundballs

Matt Yates, St. Mary’s Ryken sophomore

The third-leading scorer for the Knights hit the net 46 times; finished with 19 assists and 65 points


Daniel Batong, St. Mary’s Ryken senior

Unanimously named to the All-WCAC first team; finished with 318 career groundballs; will play in state senior All-Star game; will play at Drexel University

Nick Landavazo, Chopticon senior

Scooped up 92 groundballs this season; finished with 29 goals and 11 assists

Brian Oechsel, Leonardtown senior

48 groundballs this season; 18 goals, 8 assists


Brennan Tarleton, St. Mary’s Ryken senior

Voted as Ryken’s top defender; named to All-WCAC first team; led defense in scoring

Connor Duffy, Leonardtown junior

Duffy led the Raiders with 37 takeaways; finished with 32 groundballs, second among the defense; 4 goals, 1 assist

Troy Mendenhall, St. Mary’s Ryken junior

Played both long-stick midfield and close defense; All-WCAC honorable mention; voted 2012 team captain


Joe Capstaff, St. Mary’s Ryken senior

Finished with a 63 percent save percentage; 191 total saves; gave up an average of 5 goals per game; will play for University of South Florida next season
