Two St. Mary’s County men were indicted last week on charges of raping two women last year while they were passed out from drinking alcohol that was allegedly provided by the defendants.
According to court documents, Elvis Tyrell Frederick, 25, of Loveville and Walter J. Ford Jr., 25, of Lexington Park were indicted in Calvert County Circuit Court on charges of second-degree rape, conspiracy to commit second-degree rape and committing second-degree assault on July 21, 2010, at a Lusby residence.
Both men allegedly went to the Coster Road home of one of the victims and brought vodka and cranberry juice. Both women told police that they fell asleep in separate rooms. One woman said she does not recall falling asleep, but both alleged that when they woke up, Ford and Frederick were performing sexual acts on them.
The women both allegedly told police that when they each asked the men to stop, they did not. One of the women alleged that she heard the other calling for her from the master bedroom, and found her friend naked from the waist down curled up in the bedroom, with Ford also in the room.
The two women, along with a third woman, told police they did not recall seeing either Ford or Frederick drinking the vodka. One of the women, who said she became sick after drinking the alcohol, was given a blood test at the hospital and the toxicology report determined the presence of a barbiturate, charging documents state. The woman told police she is not prescribed any medication and had not taken any medication recently. Both women were given forensic sexual assault exams, but the results were not listed in charging documents.
