A Virginia woman has been charged with assaulting officers investigating an apparent argument involving her and two other people, police reported.
Two officers were patrolling near the Waldorf intersection of U.S. 301 and Acton Lane at 11:56 p.m. Feb. 8 when they saw two vehicles whose occupants appeared to be arguing with a woman walking alongside them.
As the officers approached to investigate, one of the occupants, Lakita Patricia McCoy, 25, of Richmond, Va., become disorderly and assaulted them, police reported.
McCoy was arrested and charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
She was released Feb. 9 on her own recognizance, according to online court records.
