Paul Andrew Gwynn, 81, Clinton
Paul Andrew “P.G.” Gwynn, 81, of Clinton died Feb. 10, 2012.
Born Jan. 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Thomas S. Gwynn Sr. and the late Mary Avis Middleton Gwynn.
Mr. Gwynn was a graduate of Surrattsville High School in 1949 and attended Duke University. He was a school bus driver while working at the family business, and then became manager and eventual owner of Clinton Motor company, a Ford dealership established by his father. He enjoyed his family, friends, farming, hunting, fishing and crabbing from his pleasure boats, and countless hours at his beach house in Calvert County. He treasured friendships in Madison County, Va., as a member of Aylor Hunt Club, a fine cigar, a good drink and his faith. He was never one to shy away from a day's work and passed the trait to his children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Mary Russell Gwynn who died May 2001; and son, Thomas Mark Gwynn.
He is survived by his brother, David Gwynn; sister, Christina Evald; children, Paula Boundy, Sandra and her husband, Mike Martin, Russell and his wife, Dawn Gwynn, James Gwynn, Bernard and his wife, Debbie Gwynn, Mary Charlotte and her husband, Kenneth Hawko, Alan and his wife, Cynthia Gwynn, Wayne and his wife, Judith Gwynn and Jeffrey and his wife, Terri Gwynn; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Florence Olano.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Feb. 24 at Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Prince Frederick. Inurnment will be private.
