Charles Albert Guyer Jr., 86, Hyattsville

Charles Albert Guyer Jr., 86, of Hyattsville died Feb. 18, 2012, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall.

Born Sept. 10, 1925, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Charles Albert Guyer Sr. and the late Elizabeth Egan Guyer.

He graduated from McKinley High School in the District and then entered the U.S. Army. He served during World War II as a staff sergeant. Later, he did gas conversion with heating and air-conditioning businesses. He also loved to fish and was a hard worker.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan E. Toth of Great Mills and Sandra Lynn Guyer of Fort Myers, Fla.; grandson, Daniel Toth; great-granddaughter, Veronica Toth; and former wife, Ida A. Guyer.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. Feb. 24 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, Charlotte Hall. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham.
