Margaret Elizabeth Bowen Ogden, 91, of Port Republic died Feb. 19, 2012, at her home.

She was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Prince Frederick to the late Irving and Fannie M. Bowen.

She had a prolonged bout of heart problems. She, along with her husband Earl, operated the Ogdenís Grocery Store in Port Republic for more than 30 years prior to her husbandís death. She thoroughly loved crocheting (afghans were her specialty), bowling and the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Prior to her sickness, she was active at Christ Church in Port Republic and loved visits by family and friends. She was also an integral part of two fifth-generation occurrences.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Ogden Sr.; son, Robert Earl Ogden Jr.; daughter, Deborah Louise Johns; and siblings, John I. Bowen, Daisy B. Sherbert, Isaac C. Bowen, Betty Jane Bowen, Allen H. Bowen and Barbara Ann Bowen.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Darlene Bladen and her husband, Melvin; sister, Frances L. Rausch; grandchildren, Debbie, Dell Jr., Dale, Missy and Mike; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Family received friends Feb. 23 at Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road in Port Republic.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 24, at Christ Episcopal Church in Port Republic.

Interment will follow at Wesley Cemetery in Prince Frederick.
