St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help in their investigation of a crash early Friday morning near New Market, which seriously injured a man driving a pickup truck when it struck the rear of a dump truck.
The 23-year-old driver of the Ford F150 truck was flown to the Prince George’s Hospital Center, sheriff’s deputies report, after the 4 a.m. collision on Route 5 near the highway’s intersection with New Market Village Road.
Sheriff’s deputies are trying to locate two potential witnesses to the accident. Just prior to the collision, a large pickup truck with light blue fluorescent headlights was traveling in the area. Another passenger vehicle also was traveling in the area. The sheriff's office has requested that the drivers of the two vehicles, or any other individual who may have been driving in the area and witnessed the accident, call the agency at 301-475-4040 to assist the investigation by deputy Kevin Meyer.
