Coaches neededSt. Mary’s Ryken High School is looking to fill the following coaching positions: Head sailing coach, JV softball coach, JV girls lacrosse coach, assistant baseball coach and head volleyball coach.

Indoor skils clinics

St. Mary’s American Little League will hold indoor skills clinics from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Carver Elementary School in Lexington Park for baseball and softball players 5 to 18.

To participate in the clinics, players need to signup for a Little League team. If players sign up online at www.eteamz.com/small, they are eligible to play in all three clinics.

St. Mary’s American handles fastpitch softball for all of St. Mary’s County and baseball from Morganza to Lexington Park.

Lax coaches neededThe Mechanicsville Youth Lacrosse Club is looking for coaches for their boys youth lacrosse teams this spring.

The players are 5 to 14. Practice starts in early March and the season ends in late May.

Practices will be held at Chaptico Park, Route 238 and home games will be at Fifth District Park behind Lettie Dent School, Route 6.

Soccer registration

St. Mary’s Youth Soccer is holding registration through Feb. 26 with late registration through March 3.

The cost is $65 for the first player, $60 for the second player and $40 for the third player. Additional players in the same household after three are free. The cost for the league’s U-5 kiddie kick program is $55.

There is a $10 late registraton fee if registered between Feb. 27 and March 3.

Volunteers are needed to coach and no experience is required for the recreation division.

Adult softball players wanted

Players are wanted for 50-and-Over men’s softball, which plays Thursday evenings at St. Clements Shores Park.

Hurricanes fundraiser

Hughesville Hurricanes baseball will hold a Texas hold ’em poker tournament on Feb. 26.

St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks will hold a youth field hockey instructional clinic for first- through eighth-graders.

Registration will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 29 and March 1 at the Leonard Hall Recreation Center in Leonardtown. The cost is $55.

The clinic will be held Wednesday afternoons March 7 to April 11 at Margaret Brent Recreation Center in Helen.

Dodgeball tournament

St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks will hold a Spring Classic Dodgeball Tournament at 9 a.m. March 31 at Leonard Hall Recreation Center in Leonardtown.

The tournament will be split into an adult division and a high school division competing in a round-robin format. Minors must have parental permission.

The cost is $150 per team if registered by March 4, the registration deadline.
