Adult softball players wanted

Players are wanted for 50-and-Over men’s softball, which plays Thursday evenings at St. Clements Shores Park.

Soccer registration

St. Mary’s Youth Soccer is holding late registration through March 3.

The cost is $65 for the first player, $60 for the second player and $40 for the third player. Additional players in the same household after three are free. The cost for the league’s U-5 kiddie kick program is $55.

There is a $10 late registraton fee through March 3.

Volunteers are needed to coach and no experience is required for the recreation division.

Stingrays baseballThe Stingrays 11-U and 12-U Southern Maryland travel baseball teams are looking to add talented players to their respective rosters.

The team has an indoor facility in Chaptico and will practice pitching and hitting during the offseason and the season should begin March 30 and continue into the fall.

Explosions wantedThe PFA Explosion, a U-17 WAGS travel team, is looking for talented and committed players for the 2012 spring season and guest players for its college showcase tournament team.

The coaching staff holds a USSF A License, coaches Northern High School’s girls varsity team and has a combined coaching experience of more than 35 years.

Dodgeball tournament

St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks will hold a Spring Classic Dodgeball Tournament at 9 a.m. March 31 at Leonard Hall Recreation Center in Leonardtown.

The tournament will be split into an adult division and a high school division competing in a round-robin format. Minors must have parental permission.

The cost is $150 per team if registered by March 4, the registration deadline.

Field hockey campsGold Standard will hold a youth field hockey camp from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 18 at Calvert High School. The camp is open to children 5 to 13 and the cost is $65.

A high school camp will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 18 to 21 at Calvert High School. The camp is open to players in eighth- through 12th-grades and the fee is $150.

Another high school camp will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 25 to 29 at St. Mary’s Ryken High School. The camp is open to players in the seventh- through 12th-grades and the cost is $175.

Maryland Rush Swoosh ‘00, a U-11 boys soccer team, is currently holding tryouts for the spring of 2012 for players born between Aug. 1, 2000 and July 31, 2001. The team plays in the National Capital Soccer League.
