Mount St. Maryís announces fall honors

Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg has announced that 522 students made the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester. The honored students include Leigh Tippett, a freshman from Charlotte Hall and the daughter of Sharon Tippett; Erin Leddy, a junior from Great Mills and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Leddy; Danielle Rodriguez, a sophomore from Lexington Park and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Juan Rodriguez; and Ashley Lyle, a senior from Mechanicsville and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Lyle.

Eversole named to Wingateís president's list

Wingate University in Wingate, N.C., has named Rachel Eversole of Hollywood to the president's list for demonstrating outstanding academic achievement during the fall 2011 semester. The president's list requires a term GPA of 3.8 on at least 12 quality point academic hours, with no grade below a C.

Kitner makes deanís list

Jaquelin Kitner of Great Mills, a senior business administration major at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., was named to the collegeís dean's list for the fall semester. Students make the deanís list if they complete at least four letter-graded courses and earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 for the semester.

Balderson, McEvoy honored

Ashley Balderson, a senior business and economics major from Hollywood, and Karen McEvoy, a senior arts and sciences major from Leonardtown, were named to the University of Delawareís deanís list for the fall 2011 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the dean's list, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or higher for the semester.

Williams makes deanís list

Keshia Williams of Lexington Park was included on the dean's list for the fall semester of 2011 at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. Williams, who is majoring in athletic training, is the daughter of James and Allison Williams of Lexington Park. She is a 2008 graduate of Great Mills High School.

To be eligible for the deanís list at Ashland, a student must be enrolled full time and achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Dobberstein named to Baylor honor list

Pamela Renee Dobberstein of Lexington Park was named to the deanís academic honor list for the 2011 fall semester at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Dobberstein is a student in Baylorís College of Arts and Sciences. To be named to the dean's list, a student must be an undergraduate with a minimum grade-point average of 3.7, while enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Paz earns highest honors

Teresa N. Paz of Hollywood has been named to the fall 2011 deanís list with honors at McDaniel College in Westminster. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89.

Wake Forest releases deanís list

Morgan Miller of Lexington Park and Shelby Taylor of Mechanicsville were among the more than 1,800 students at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C., who made the fallís deanís list at the university.

Giordano makes deanís list

Sara Giordano of California earned a place on the fall 2011 semester deanís list at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.

Giordanoís academic work earned her a place on the 3.5 to 3.99 list.

Riggs honored at VMI

Casey J. Riggs of California, a senior at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va., was among the 506 cadets named to the deanís list for the institute for the first semester of the 2011-2012 academic year. Riggs is majoring in mechanical engineering at the school. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick T. Riggs.
