Police say no foul play is supscted
By KATIE FITZPATRICK
Staff writerThe body of a Leesburg, Va., man was found in a boat docked at Zahniser’s Yachting Center Marina on Solomons Island Saturday, and Maryland Natural Resources Police are investigating.
At about 10 a.m. Saturday, marina employees discovered the body of Conrad H. Neuf Jr., 85, on a small boat as they were performing a morning inspection.
Sgt. Art Windemuth of the NRP said Neuf had a sailboat and he would travel from Virginia to spend time at the marina. Windemuth said Neuf was found “adjacent to the” sailboat in a small boat.
“We won’t have any definitive information as to what happened until the autopsy … and that will take a couple weeks before we get all the blood work and all,” Windemuth said.
An NRP press release said the body has been transported to the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause of death.
Windemuth said Neuf was alone in the boat and investigators do not suspect foul play. The NRP Special Operations Division is continuing the investigation.
