William W. Hocker, 78, Charles County
William W. Hocker, 78, of Charles County died April 8, 2012.
He was born Feb. 4, 1933, in California.
He was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to serving in the Office of Special Investigations, he was employed as a federal investigator for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. He concluded his longtime career in investigations as a background investigator for the State Department. He enjoyed golf, road trips and showing cars. He was especially proud of his 1976 Monte Carlo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith May Hocker.
He is survived by his sons, William A. Hocker and his wife, Chris, and Bruce Hocker; daughter, Bonita Snyder; grandchildren, Matt and Jason Hocker, Cody and Cheryl Snyder, Carrolyn Boswell and Kimberly Hocker; great-grandson, Ashton Boswell; and sister, Helen Beounites.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. April 15 with a short service at 7 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Bob Buehler. The main service will be held at 12:30 p.m. April 16 at Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf. Burial with military honors will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham.
