Charles Randolph Thompson, 63, Lexington Park
Charles Randolph Thompson, 63, of Lexington Park died Jan. 19, 2012, at home.
Born Aug. 11, 1948, in La Plata, he was the son of the late Randolph B. Thompson and the late Dorothy Lee Coleman Thompson.
He was raised and educated in Lexington Park and graduated from Great Mills High School. He worked as a stock clerk at McKay’s, Food Lion and other grocery stores. He belonged to the Mechanicsville Moose Lodge 495 from 1983 to 2010 and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends, playing pool, collecting Coke and M&Ms memorabilia and taking care of Greta, his mother’s dog.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby brother, who died at birth, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his aunts, Sarah Lorence, Letha Edwards, Margaret Hill and Jean Reese; uncles, Herbert Keyton and Paul Keyton; and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 21 at Hughesville Baptist Church, Hughesville. The Rev. Kevin Cullins will officiate. Burial will take place at Holy Ghost Catholic Church Cemetery, Issue, at a later date.
