A Chaptico area man died Saturday at a hospital, police report, after emergency responders found him and the motorcycle he was riding in a wooded area along Maddox Road.
Michael Edward Daisey, 43, was riding the 2008 Suzuki Hayabusa south on the highway at about 1:46 p.m. that day, according to St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputies, when he passed another vehicle, lost control of the motorcycle at a curve and was thrown from the motorcycle as it went into the air after striking a guardrail and side road’s curb.
The motorcycle’s speed and driver error are considered contributing factors in the crash, the sheriff’s office reports, and investigators have requested that any witnesses not yet contacted call the agency at 301-475-4200, ext. 9114.
