Dennis Kevin Scott, 61, Lusby

Dennis Kevin Scott, 61, of Lusby, formerly of Leonardtown and La Plata, died April 23, 2012, at home.

Born April 23, 1951, in La Plata, he was the son of Sheila C. Ferris Scott of Annapolis and the late Raymond F. Scott.

Mr. Scott graduated from La Plata High School in 1969 and went to work for Verizon, from which he retired. He then went to work for DMI as a communications specialist. He was an avid golfer.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Eva Scott of Leonardtown; stepdaughter, Kandace Lesher of San Francisco; siblings, Eugene F. Scott of Woodbridge, Va., and Joanne Sykes of Annapolis; and former spouse, Peggy Steltzer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 30 at First Saints/St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Leonardtown. The Rev. John Wunderlich will officiate. Inurnment will take place at the church cemetery.
