Regina L. Rison, 61, La Plata
Regina L. Rison, 61, of La Plata died April 25, 2012.
Born Aug. 16, 1950, at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late John W. and the late Mary L. Pugh.
She was raised in La Plata. At the time of her death she worked at RCM&D Insurance Group as a special risk account manager.
She was a longstanding parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata. She was instrumental in launching Mary’s Pantry, a food bank for the needy, through Sacred Heart and continued her dedication to the food pantry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Melvin R. Rison.
She is survived by her brother, John J. Pugh; sister, Edith F. Adams; sons, Richard Rison and Scott Rison and his wife, Kimberly; nieces, Frances Schram, Carla Cox, Tonya Owens and Carrie Howell; nephews, David Chase, James Lofgren and Shaun Pugh; grandchild, Jayden Hicks; and special family friends, Robert, Brian and Jennifer Rupp.
Visitation was held April 30 at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, La Plata. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 1 at Sacred Heart Church. Burial took place at the church cemetery.
