Members of the Great Mills High School Chapter of Key Club, the high school branch of the Kiwanis Club International, celebrate their chapter winning the organizationís highest award, the Distinguished Club Award, including, from left, Jake Heibel, principal of Great Mills High School; Caroline Brigham, Key Club president for 2011-2012; Kristy Vo, Key Club vice president for 2011-2012; Charlie Chappel, Key Club president for 2012-2013; Erica Muenzel, Key Club vice president for 2012-2013, Heather Johnson, Key Club secretary for 2012-2013; and Eva Donahue, Key Club faculty sponsor. The award, which the chapter is dedicating to Glynnis Schmidt, recognizes overall performance in the combined areas of club administration, membership and leadership development, Kiwanis family involvement, service and fundraising. The club was awarded Key Club of the year in the Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia region at the annual conference held in Arlington , Va. Also receiving awards as outstanding president of the year was Brigham, a GMHS junior; and outstanding vice president , Vo, a GHMS senior.
