Southern Maryland’s leading businesses and executives will be honored at the 12th annual Leading Edge Awards ceremony June 13.

The annual event showcases individuals and businesses that spur economic growth within the region. The honorees exemplify the qualities synonymous with business success: performance excellence, innovation and an unwavering dedication to customers and staff, said Daniel Mosser, vice president of the College of Southern Maryland’s Continuing Education and Workforce Development.

Among those to be recognized this year are Calvert Systems Engineering as Calvert County Business of the Year, Chaney Enterprises President and CEO William F. Childs IV as CEO of the Year, Charles County Public Library as Charles County Technology Company of the Year, MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital as CSM Partnership in Education, Sabre Systems as The Patuxent Partnership Member Firm of the Year and Brian Keesee, president of Crown Trophy of Waldorf and co-owner of Pothole Pros, as SBDC Small Business Person of the Year.

Co-hosting and presenting this year’s Leading Edge Awards are Calvert County Technology Council, Charles County Technology Council, The Patuxent Partnership, Small Business Development Center for the Southern Region of Maryland, The Corporate Center at CSM and CSM Foundation.

The Leading Edge Awards program will include a reception and banquet from 6 to 9:30 p.m. June 13 at the Jaycees center at 3090 Crain Highway in Waldorf.
