The Human Resources Association of Southern Maryland will meet from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 16 at Regency Furniture Stadium at 11765 St. Linus Drive in Waldorf.

Christine Walters of FiveL Co. will present the latest federal and state legislative, regulatory and legal news impacting HR administration. The presentation will present the latest HR news in a case-study format with tips for enhancing policies, procedures and practices related to worker classification, wage and hour administration, managing disability and leave issues, and discrimination trends.

The first 33 people who register will receive a free copy of Walters’ book, “From Hello to Goodbye: Proactive Tips for Maintaining Positive Employee Relations.”

The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in human resources issues. The cost is $35 for members and $40 for nonmembers, which includes both continental breakfast and lunch.
