Fire officials are trying to figure out what sparked a Sunday afternoon blaze at a Bowie home under renovation, according to a Prince George's County fire/EMS spokesman.
The fire started about 2 p.m. at a home in the 4000 block of Nicholas Place and neighbors said they saw renovation workers leave the house 30 minutes prior to the fire starting, said Mark Brady, a county fire/EMS spokesman. One firefighter injured his ankle while extinguishing the flames, according to Brady.
A cause is under investigation. No one was living inside the home at the time so no evacuation was required, Brady said.
