Katherine Sarah “Kat” Morris, 22, of California died May 6, 2012.
Born March 11, 1990, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the Rev. Willie Morris and the Rev. Marguerite Morris and was the baby girl in the family, with six brothers and sisters.
She received her education in St. Mary’s County public schools and St. Mary’s Ryken, from which she graduated. She earned a bachelor of science degree in family services from the University of Maryland. Just prior to her death, she had applied for admission to U.S. Air Force Officer Training School.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed working with young children and did an enormous amount of volunteer work. She also enjoyed cooking and was a superb cook and enjoyed making jewelry.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Isaac Goodwin; three sisters, Jameka Morris, Charlotte Morris-Breeden and Aja Long; three brothers, Willie Morris Jr., Christopher Morris and Andre Morris; and four very special friends, Shaudae, Sam, Michelle and Rose..
She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 12, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Gospel Tabernacle of Prayer Church in Clements. Interment will follow at First Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington Park. The Rev. Roderick McClanahan will officiate.
Arrangements are being handled by Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home in Mechanicsville.
