The 21st annual Capitol Heights Day is planned for June 8 and June 9 to celebrate the incorporation of the town of Capitol Heights on June 1, 1910. The weekend will begin with a 6 p.m. June 8 awards dinner and gospel concert featuring local churches at the Brooke Road Neighborhood Park at 1101 Brooke Road.
A 10 a.m. parade will kick off the June 9 Capitol Heights Day Parade and Picnic at Capitol Heights Elementary School, 601 Suffolk Ave. The parade will start at the Capitol Heights Metro Station at 133 Central Ave. and end at the school.
