Our week began with a competitive game against Westlake, where I have never seen such an engaged crowd, anxious players or coaches pacing as much as they did on Monday.
We both played a hard, close game, shooting goals to keep the score within a point or tied until the last few minutes of the game.
Even though we lost 9-8, I am proud to say that every Charger played a hard and clean game. The close finish of the Westlake game prepared us for our playoff game that we all anxiously awaited.
La Plata High School was our competitor in the first round of playoffs. We all walked onto the field ready to play hard and win.
La Plata played well and I believe that the La Plata players and their coaches are one of the nicest teams that I have ever played.
I could not have asked for a nicer team or game to play for my final lacrosse game as a Lackey Charger.
Unfortunately, we were unable to defeat La Plata, which marked Wednesday as the end of the 2012 Lady Chargers lacrosse season.
I never thought that it would end this soon, but now I want to wish the La Plata Warriors the best of luck in the rest of their season.
This week was one when I believe our team had grown. We stepped up our game at Westlake and hung in there until the very end. In my opinion, we all demonstrated superb sportsmanship and have proven ourselves to be true Lackey Chargers.
We began our season with the same positive attitude that we ended it with, and I could not be more satisfied with my final lacrosse season.
