Army Specialist Ronald H. Wildrick Jr. of Woodsboro, who was killed on Dec. 11, 2011, in the Kunar province of Afghanistan, will be honored in a Memorial Day service.

Wildrick died from his wounds caused by an improvised explosive device.

The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. May 28, in the Circle of the Immortals, at the Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 E. Padonia Road, Timonium.

Memorial services also will be staged for Maryland soldiers who were killed since May 2011 while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

In addition to honoring those fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, the ceremony will also pay tribute to soldiers who died in Korea, Vietnam and World War II.

Secretary of Veterans Affairs for Maryland, Edward Chow Jr., a Vietnam War veteran, will be the keynote speaker.
