Douglas Cecil “Doug” Cooper, 74, of Lusby, formerly of Bowie, died May 11, 2012, at his residence.

Born Aug. 4, 1937, in Hobart, Okla., he was the son of the late Earl and Ruby Knight Cooper.

He married Patricia Cooper on Nov. 11, 1960. She preceded him in death in 1981.

He entered the Air Force on Jan. 15, 1957, and was honorably discharged Feb. 20, 1959. He moved to Maryland from Sacramento, Calif.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Cooper of California; his sister, Naomi Pawless of Hobart; and his niece, Pamela McCowan of Sacramento. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his children, Nick Cooper, Kirk Cooper and Patricia Cooper; and his siblings, Darlene Cooper, Dorothy Atkins, Charles Cooper and Heston Cooper.

The family received friends May 15 at Rausch Funeral Home in Lusby. Graveside services will be held today, May 16, at 11 a.m. at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, with the Rev. Bill Ticknor officiating.
