Sharon Yvette Fenwick Chase, 59, District Heights
Sharon Yvette “Mickey” Fenwick Chase, 59, of District Heights, formerly of Chaptico, died May 13, 2012.
Born Dec. 18, 1952, in Leonardtown, she was the fourth child born to the late Harry P. “Buck” Fenwick and the late Edna E. Dent Fenwick.
She attended public schools in St. Mary’s County. She married George P. Chase Jr. in March 1978, and had two daughters, Sherri L. Young and Tonya L. Chase.
She worked at Regency Nursing Facility in Forestville. She was working as the resident manager at Spanish Village Apartments at the time of her death, and was one of the most well respected resident managers that they had.
She had an excellent sense of humor. She enjoyed gambling. Traveling with her family to Rehoboth Beach, Del., visiting family in North Carolina, and enjoying a Thanksgiving cruise to the Bahamas were special to her. Her favorite time was the weekend spent with her granddaughter, Sheridan, and husband, adventuring to shopping centers, restaurants and parks. She was fun-loving and always willing to give a helping hand or share a home-cooked meal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James E. “Sonnyboy” Dent.
She is survived by her husband, George P. Chase Jr.; daughters, Sherri L. Young and Tonya L. Chase; granddaughter, Sheridan L. Young; brothers, Harry P. Fenwick Jr. and his wife, Pat of District Heights, James V. Fenwick of Lusby, Paul A. Fenwick of Bushwood and Chris O. Fenwick of Lexington Park; sisters, Mary A. “Susie” Somerville and her husband, Woodley of Hollywood, Diane M. Fenwick of Hollywood, Dorothy L. Fenwick of District Heights, Terri L. Fenwick of District Heights and Toni F. Blackwell and her husband, Tim of Lexington Park; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. May 23 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morganza. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Church Cemetery, Bushwood.
Arrangements are being handled by Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, Mechanicsville.
