A 16-year-old boy got away after two masked people tried to rob him May 10 near Kingsway Drive in White Plains, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Officers responded at 7:55 p.m. for the report of an attempted robbery. The boy told police he was walking home when the two people approached him and demanded his shoes.

The boy refused and ran home.
