Lug nuts were stolen off the wheels of an SUV between 5:50 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. May 16 at the Mattawoman Beantown Road park-and-ride lot in Waldorf, police report.

Officers believe the thieves were trying to steal the wheels as well, but fled before getting them off the vehicle. No other vehicles were tampered with.
