Metro officials are advising riders to avoid four Metrorail Green Line stations during Memorial Day Weekend, when stations will close for track work, the transit agency announced Wednesday.

Greenbelt, College Park, Prince George’s Plaza, and West Hyattsville stations will all be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to Monday, though bus service will be provided. A shuttle bus will go between the stops, but could add up to 50-minutes to travel time, according to a press release.

“For the first time, we’re also going to do an express bus,” said Philip Stewart, a Metro spokesman, adding that the bus will travel between the Greenbelt and Fort Totten stations without stops in between. “That cuts about 20-minutes off the bus time.”

The Orange Line will not be affected by track work, Stewart said, so riders are encouraged to use the New Carrollton Station if possible.
