One or more culprits put a Molotov cocktail explosive device under a car in Callaway early Friday morning and ignited it, state investigators report, resulting in $7,000 in damages to the vehicle.

Six 2nd District volunteer firefighters responding to a 3:45 a.m. alarm quickly doused the blaze originating underneath Jermaine Jackson’s 2010 Ford Focus parked at Hunting Meadows Court, according to a notice of investigation by deputy state fire marshal Dexter Hodges.

The agency has requested that anyone with information about the blaze call its regional office at 443-550-6832.
