Sherrian Rayfalette (Jones) Warren, 56, of Waldorf died May 2, 2012, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
She was born Oct. 18.1955, at the Calvert County Hospital in Prince Frederick to Clarence Rayfield and Adele Catherine (Franklin) Jones.
She attended public school in the District of Columbia and graduated from Spingarn High School. She married William Warren (divorced) of Washington, D.C. She was employed by the federal government for most of her adult life and retired in 2010. She was a very private person in life keeping close to her family circle and her devoted long-time friend Tina Settles of Landover. She will be remembered for her warm smile and kindness. She loved to shop and will be remembered for her giving and generous spirit. A host of cousins first to fourth generation, those who were near and dear will miss her so much. The young ones will miss her ongoing advice on life’s choices and her gentle scolding. She always was pushing them to strive for nothing less than excellence.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cheryl Lynette Martin
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Warren-White; granddaughter, Darryl L White; sisters, Eartha Renia Jones; brother, Kenneth Whitmore; nephew, Ronnie Martin; nieces, Loujaun Purnell and Kenika Whitmore; grandnephew, Alexander Purnell; uncles, Edgar Franklin of Washington, D.C., and Donald Franklin of Capitol Heights; and aunts, Ethel Adams of Owings, Dorothy Jones of Washington, D.C., Loretta Richardson and Juanita Jenkins.
A funeral service was held May 10 at Cooper’s United Methodist Church in Dunkirk with the Rev. Sandra E. Smith officiating.
Interment was at the church.
Pallbearers were Antonio D. Wallace Jr., Kevin D. Holmes, Dominique X. Holmes, Antonio D. Wallace Sr., Michael Claggett and Pierre Franklin.
Arrangements were provided by Sewell Funeral Home in Prince Frederick.
