On June 4, St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Roger’s Drive in Lexington Park for a report of shots fired. As deputies were investigating the complaint they made contact with Devon Lawrence Thomas, 30, of Great Mills. Deputies were interviewing Thomas when they allegedly noticed a gun, later identified as a .38-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, protruding from under the front seat of a vehicle parked in front of the residence on Roger’s Drive. Deputies also located .38-caliber shell casing inside of the vehicle, according to a release from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas, who was identified as the owner of the vehicle, allegedly could not explain how he came into possession of the revolver or why there was a shell casing inside of the vehicle, according to the release. As a result of the investigation and the establishment of probable cause, Thomas was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment.
