Theft charges are pending against a 16-year-old Brandywine boy after an officer found a basketball hoop that had been stolen from the edge of a driveway in the 2100 block of Fairchild Court outside of a home on Chapelside Court, police said.

Officer R. Bagley responded at 8 p.m. to the Fairchild Court home for the reported theft. Another officer has seen people playing basketball on Chapelside Court, another street in the neighborhood.

Bagley went to the Chapelside Court home and confirmed that the basketball hoop belonged to the owners of the Fairchild Court home.

Bagley determined the boy had stolen the hoop and theft charges are pending.
