Carolyn Town of Huntingtown was selected for membership in Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s award-winning nursing honor society, the Zeta Lambda chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.
Town, daughter of David and Kathryn Town, is a 2009 graduate of Huntingtown High School.
A nursing major and dean’s list student at IUP, she won the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania Upperclassman scholarship and the Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement. She is the president of the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania, the treasurer of the nursing class of 2013 class council, Alpha Tau Delta nursing fraternity and the Catholic Student Association. She volunteers at local blood drives, is a campus freshman orientation leader, group coordinator for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life and a volunteer at St. Andrew’s Village Senior Center.
