Dorothy Landry “Dottie” Hepner, 62, of Waldorf died June 11, 2012, at Washington Hospital Center.

Born June 25, 1949, in La Plata, she was the daughter of Richard Price Landry and the late Dorothy Cochrane Landry.

She was a statistical assistant for 33 years with the U.S. Census Bureau.

She loved reading, counted cross stitch, ghost stories and local history. She was a cat lover and enjoyed listening to the Bee Gees and Neil Diamond music. She was known for always wearing a cross and was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to her father, she is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Knight of Mechanicsville and Keri L. Hepner of Waldorf; and two grandchildren, Brian and Sean Knight.

The family received friends June 16 and a service was held at Raymond Funeral Chapel in La Plata. The Rev. Mark Roberson officiated.
