Joshua Bruce, 26, has been charged with reckless endangerment and firing a firearm within 150 yards of a dwelling after a Sunday evening incident, said Lt. Steve Jones of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
Bruce was reportedly involved in a verbal argument with his wife then went out front and allegedly fired one shot from a shotgun into the air and ran back into the home in the 400 block of Round Up Road in Lusby, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
At about 8:15 p.m., troopers with the Maryland State Police responded to the domestic altercation, according to the release.
There were several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with Bruce at which point the situation was declared as a barricade, the release states.
Jones said the sheriff’s office Special Operations Team and negotiators were dispatched to the barricade.
The release states that it was determined Bruce had fled the scene on foot and officers were unable to locate him.
Bruce reported to the sheriff’s office Monday morning, Jones said, where he was questioned.
Sheriff Mike Evans said Bruce was arrested, charged and then released from the sheriff’s office.
