Geraldine Mae Sherman, 90, of Rose Haven died June 25, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Nebraska to Dewey and Mina (Goodwin) Olson.

She was raised and received her education in Nebraska. In the early 1940s, she and her sister moved to Washington to seek employment. She married Charles Edward Sherman in Washington, D.C., in 1943, and they resided in Forestville until moving to Rose Haven in 1993. She was employed as a congressional budget analyst for the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office.

She was a member of Grace Brethren Church of Calvert County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Sherman, who died July 8, 1998, and sister Vera Kearney.

She is survived by her children, Charles D. Sherman and his wife, Audrey, of Forestville, Frances G. Sherman of Rose Haven and Dennis W. Sherman and his wife, Sharon, of Camp Springs; grandchildren, Dawn Brash of Broomes Island and Charles Nathan Sherman of Forestville; great-grandchildren, Charles Nathan Roscoe Sherman and Sabrina Ball; and great-great-grandchildren, Ryan Ball and Everett Pirner.

Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane in Owings, where a service and celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
