Bernard A. Burch Sr., 73, of White Plains died July 6, 2012, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.
Born Sept. 17, 1938, in St. Mary’s County, he was the son of the late John Ecton Burch and the late Kathleen Emma Morgan Burch.
He worked for Georgetown University as a truck driver until he retired. He enjoyed watching Western movies, crabbing, fishing, listening to country music and dancing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Theodore Burch and Leo Burch.
He is survived by his wife, Alma I. Burch; sons, Bernard A. Burch Jr. and Daniel W. Burch; sisters, Josephine Taylor, Mae Goldsmith, Jennie Lynch and Pearl Joy; brothers, Leslie Burch, Carroll Burch, David Burch and Bobby Burch; four grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, some of whom reside in St. Mary’s County; and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at Raymond Funeral Service in La Plata, where a service will be held at noon, with the Rev. Mark Roberson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Waldorf.
