The Charles County Sheriff's Office has released new details regarding the indictment of two Prince George’s County police officers charged with the kidnapping and false arrest of two Waldorf teens over Memorial Day weekend.

Christopher Michael Perry, 27, was outside his home in the 8900 block of Tower Mill Lane in Waldorf with Michael Rowe, 26, of Upper Marlboro the afternoon of May 28 when a man walked by and informed the off-duty officers that he was looking for a trio of teens whom he suspected had stolen a bottle of liquor from his cookout in the 2000 block of Merchant Court, Charles County sheriff's spokeswoman Diane Richardson said.

The man had asked the teens to leave his party when he discovered they had been drinking alcohol. Moments later he found a large bottle of liquor missing.

The man searched for the kids but could not find them and was on his way back home when he spotted Perry and Rowe.

The two officers got into a patrol car, began looking for the teens and found them along Middleton Road near the Charles Crossing neighborhood. The teens fled, one on his bicycle and the other two, 15 and 16, on foot.

The officers chased down the 15- and 16-year-old, arrested them and placed them in their patrol car, and asked them where their parents lived, Richardson said.

The teens directed the officers to a nearby house. As they pulled into the driveway, one of the teens got out of the car and ran away.

Perry and Rowe discovered that neither of the teens’ parents lived at the location provided.

They dropped the teen who stayed behind in the patrol car off at Countywide Pool Service on Marshall Corner Road in Pomfret, a few miles from his house, Richardson said.

The teen walked home and told his parents what happened; the parents notified the sheriff’s office.

A grand jury indicted the officers June 22 on two counts each of kidnapping and false imprisonment, three counts of second-degree assault and lone counts of attempted kidnapping, attempted false imprisonment and misconduct in office.

Both Perry and Rowe, Prince George’s County officers for four and five years, respectively, have been suspended and placed on leave by the Prince George’s police department.

They are scheduled for a Sept. 4 readiness hearing and Oct. 29 trial.
