George E. Hayden Jr. and Shirley T. (Latham) Hayden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 30. They were married on June 30, 1962, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Morganza.

George and Shirley are lifelong residents of St. Mary’s County and reside in Leonardtown. They raised three children, George E. Hayden III, Sheila Cullins and Brian Hayden. They have four grandchildren, George E. Hayden IV, Rachel Clem, Michael Hayden and Jenna Cullins.

George retired from Brinsfield Funeral Home after 24 years. Shirley retired from St. Mary’s County Department of Planning and Zoning.
