The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) invites interested persons to attend an informational public meeting regarding proposed improvements at four intersections along Route 2 (Solomons Island Road) in southern Anne Arundel County and one intersection along Route 2 in northern Calvert County.
The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Anne Arundel Public Library, South County Branch, 5940 Deale-Churchton Road (Route 256) in Deale. The intersection to be discussed for Calvert County is the intersection of Route 2 at Mount Harmony Road. The purpose of these projects is to improve traffic operations and safety by constructing dedicated left turn lanes and acceleration/deceleration lanes along Route 2, as well as making drainage improvements. Project design is underway for five projects. The informational meeting will acquaint the public with the proposed projects. Displays will be set up showing the design of proposed improvements, and SHA representatives will be available to discuss project issues and answer questions. No formal presentation will be given. Feel free to arrive at any time.
